Be Aware: What Cannot Go in the Dumpster?

The dumpster will be here soon! It will arrive Friday, October 2 at 8:00 AM and will be picked up early on Tuesday, October 6. This is a great chance to clear out larger items you’ve been hanging on to.

Some things cannot be put in the dumpster. These include:

  1. Hazardous material: paint, petroleum, Freon, pesticides, batteries, asbestos
  2. Rolled roofing, torch down roofing
  3. Dirt, sod, concrete, brick, stucco, cement siding
  4. Florescent light bulbs, appliances with Freon
  5. Tires or rims
  6. TVs, monitors, e-waste
  7. Propane tanks, microwaves
  8. Toxic substances, adhesives and compounds
  9. Vinyl tile, vinyl sheets
  10. Insulation/fireproofing (fiberglass exempt)
  11. Electrical switch gear (Romex exempt)
  12. Heating duct tape, duct insulation/cement
  13. Items larger than the drop box sides

A sign will be posted at the dumpster for your reference. If you have items on the list above, you’ll need to dispose of them properly. You can get plenty of information about that on this Portland Metro page.

Don’t forget that this Saturday, October 3, is the 2026 Fall Moorage Cleanup. See you at the top of the ramp at 9:00 AM!

You will also want to move your vehicles away from the big trees next week, which will be trimmed on Thursday, October 8.
